Worship News

With the favorable use of ZOOM during the New Year's Day service, beginning mid-January a ministry of an after worship 'Fellowship Time' was started. We are blessed to extend our online Sunday ministry to include ZOOM as well. This is simply gathering via ZOOM, Sundays at 10:30 to see each other live and in real-time. The 10:30 time is to simulate and practice getting into a Sunday morning schedule WHEN we return to in-person indoor worship, beginning on Sunday.

A separate link is sent to those already on the YouTube Worship link. It is sent earlier as a distinct reminder of another opportunity.

The lessons of using the internet with online worship in 2020 continue to be practiced and improved upon in 2021.

Thank you so much, Steve Smallcombe, for your video editing and updating of our equipment (software and hardware) in the on-going improvement of our YouTube worship videos.

Besides the musical talents of Beth Tomsick, Marian Folker and Susan Wilson in providing congregational and introductory music, we are blessed with our 'regular' musicians who have provided special music and musical offerings. We also thank Joy Kagawa, Bill Fiske, Lori Vegely, Janet Langley and Kathy Sutherland with some of the behind the scenes work in getting the YouTube video to its final presentation.

A typical worship service at Mariposa United Methodist church may include a greeting and opening prayer, time for people to greet each other, scripture readings, silent prayer and meditation, an offering, the Lord's Prayer, a children's message, the sermon, special music and hymns, and a closing prayer.

Our Sunday morning service at 9:30 is a traditional service that incorporates traditional and modern music. We welcome special music offered by our members, including our very own Open Hearts Blue Grass Band. We seek to have Christ centered services focused on prayer and Bible based messages.

Communion may also be served. All are invited to celebrate communion, but you can choose whether or not you wish to participate.

We will print words and responses in the bulletins to help those who are unfamiliar with United Methodist worship.

Visit our Directions page for maps and directions to our church.
